October 23 - 31, Dundy County Stratton students joined in nationwide Red Ribbon Week celebrations, embracing this year’s theme, “Life is a Movie, Film Drug Free.” Hosted by FBLA, the week aimed to raise awareness about drug-free lifestyles through engaging, themed dress-up days and activities that encouraged positive choices and community spirit.
Throughout the week, students participated in themed dress-up days, starting with Pajama Day on Monday, reminding everyone that “Our Dreams Are Too Big for Drugs.” The fun continued with a Hawaiian theme on Tuesday for “Lei Off Drugs,” followed by Favorite Team Apparel Day on Wednesday to “Team Up Against Drugs.” Thursday’s Halloween costumes allowed students to “Say Boo to Drugs” in a festive and spooky way.
On Monday, October 23, Officer Tom Jones from the Dundy County Sheriff's department spoke to elementary students about making safe choices. To further engage students, FBLA hosted a Red Ribbon Week Coloring Contest for younger grades, inviting students to showcase their creativity while reinforcing the importance of a drug-free life. Congratulations to our talented artists! Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make Red Ribbon Week a memorable success!
