Dundy County Stratton High School’s Information Technology and Business Departments welcomed guest speaker Grace Frederick, a 2019 DCSHS graduate. Now working as a Cybersecurity System Analyst for Nelnet, Frederick returned to share her experiences in the growing field of IT.
During her talk, Grace discussed her journey into cybersecurity, the importance of technology in modern industries, and the wide range of career opportunities available in IT. She emphasized the critical role of cybersecurity in protecting sensitive data and systems and encouraged students to explore the many paths the field offers.
Frederick's presentation not only inspired students but also provided valuable insights into the skills and education needed for success in any career, including the importance of continuous learning and adaptability. Students left with a better understanding of what it takes to build a successful career in technology, thanks to the real-world experiences shared by a successful DCSHS alumna.
As part of our mission to equip students with career-ready skills, DCSHS would like to connect with additional alumni willing to share their stories. By hearing firsthand about the transition from high school to professional success, students gain valuable insights into the skills and experiences that can help shape their future careers. We encourage alumni to return and inspire the next generation with their unique journeys and achievements. Please contact Lisa Fox at lfox@dcstigers.org to discuss an opportunity for sharing your story.
